Apr. 30, 1980 - Iran Nationals Take Over Iranian Embassy in London. Armed Iran Nationals took over the Iranian Embassy in London Today. They took the policemen hostage, an armed constable with Scotland's Yard's Diplomatic Protection Group who was on guard outside the embassy, and about 20members of the embassy staff. Shots have been heard from inside the building which is now surrounded by about 30 armed police.
