Argentina - Falkland Islands - Paraguay

May 05, 1973 - The Liberation of Political Prisoners In Argentina One of the first measures taken by the new Argentine Government of President Campora was the liberation of political prisoners made during the previous military regime. Altogether 375 political prisoners were freed, most of them of Peronist backgrounds. In Cordoba some 60 ordinary criminals escaped in a chaos created by the release of the political prisoners. One of the main prisons of Argentina is Villa Devoto, Buenos Aires, and here is a scene showing the first political prisoners abandoning the place in lorries being cheered by their relatives and friends
