Argentina - Falkland Islands - Paraguay

May 05, 1973 - The Liberation of Political Prisoners In Argentina One of the first measures taken by the new Argentine Government of President Campora was the liberation of political prisoners made during the previous military regime. Altogether 375 political prisoners were freed, most of them of Peronist backgrounds. In Cordoba some 60 ordinary criminals escaped in a chaos created by the release of the political prisoners. Some of the famous extremists of the Trelew Affaire (17 of them gunned) who fighted against the military regime are returning from south of Argentina to Buenos Aires and are here greeted on their arrival
