Jun. 06, 1956 - Argentine Government crushes Peronist revolt. A revolution headed by ex-generals and leaders of Peronism was recently crushed by the Argentine Government, headed by President Aramburu. It was the Argentina's first revolt since General Aramburu took over as President last November after the overthrow of General Peron. Some 33 rebels were reported to have been executed.
