Oct. 10, 1955 - Cyprus Police Stations trasnformed into fortresses. Troops help out the local Hobbies': Following the numerour raids by masked men on isolated Cyprus police stations who have got away with arms and ammunition Governor Field Marshal Sir John Harding has ordered British troops to man them in co-operation with the Cyprus Police. Small village police stations have been transformed into strong-points surrounded by barbed wire and netting and sandbags. Photo shows members of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers marching into the Police Station which is situated near Kouklia on the Nicosia Famagusta road Cyprus
