Nov. 11, 1955 - British Troops Continue Arms Search In Cyprus. Village Population Places In Barbed Wire Compound: More than 1, 500 British troops are taking part in the search for missing arms and ammunition in hideouts in a fifteen mile area near the Black Mountains - Cyprus. The entire male population - and some of the women of the village of Kalogrea have been rounded up and placed in barbed wire compounds. Troops taking part include ltt. Bott. Royal Leicester Regt; 1st. Batt. Norfold Regt; 40th. Field Regt. R. A. and British gunboats are patrolling the nearby coast while spotting aircraft sweep the area. Photo shows Five women suspects were rounded up with the men villagers - one was detained and they are seen arriving at the compound
