Nov. 11, 1955 - British troops continue arms search in Cyprus Villagers marched to barbed wire compound; More than 1, 500 British troops are taking part in the search for missing arms and ammunition in hideouts in a fifteen mile area near the Black Mountains Cyprus. The entire male population and some of the women of the village of Kalorea were rounded up and placed in barbed wire cages. Troops taking part includes 1st Batt. Royal Leicester Regt; 1st Batt. Norfolk Rage, 40th Field Rage, British gunboats are patrolling the nearby coast while planes swept the area - spotting.
