Jul. 07, 1958 - Curfew imposed on Nicosia Suburb after pitched battle between Greek and Turkish Youths; A curfew was imposed on the village of Omorfita, a suburb of Nicosia, after a clash between a number of Greek and Turkish youths on Thursday. Turkish boys had stormed among bungalows occupied by Greeks and tried forcibly to occupy the homes. Greek youths fought back. Photo Shows: A group of women marched towards Government House, to express their fears for life and children. In the absence of the Governor the P.A. Mr. R. Browning spoke to them and assured them that His Excellency would do all in his power to protect their houses in Omorfita
