Feb. 29 Storming of Istanbul's Walls:Chainmail-clad Turkish warrior pauses a top the Theodosian Walls of Istanbul as thousands cheer the reenactment of the conquest of Constantinople in 1453 by the Turks. The armor is authentic, and normally is kept in the Askeri Museum in the heart of downtown Istanbul. Visitors are allowed to freely photograph the epic-sized reenactment, using either still or motion pictures cameras and sound equipment. Trooper is color guard to old Ottoman war flags
