Mar. 03, 1964 - British and Greeks celebrate clean Monday': This Monday was the Greek holiday called clean Monday, when Greeks traditionally have a holiday and eat their lunch either in the country, or out on the Verandas of their houses. This year was no exception on the troubled Island of Cyprus, and British and Greek security forces who shared the same quarters on the green line boundary between Greeks and Turks in the Nicosia suurb of Omorphita, held a luncheon party together outside the British guard house.
