Nov. 11, 1960 - Trials of former Turkish Leaders begin today: The trials begin today on the island of Yassiada of leading members of the former regime in Turkey. The principal accused are ex-President Celal Bayar, Mr. Manderes, the former Prime Minister, and Mr. Zorlu, ex-Foreign Minister. A large number of former Cabinet Ministers and the greater part of the Democratic members of the last parliament are also on trial. The principal charge will be that of violation of the constitution.
