Jul. 07, 1974 - Eoka Killer Nicos Sampson Claims: I Am The New President:- Following the Greek-led coup in Cyprus yesterday Nicos Sampson, M.P. and supporter of Union with Greece. announced that he had taken over as president. A former Eoka gunman, he was sentenced to deathunder British rule, for carrying arms, but was reprieved. Later he admitted that he had helped to kill four Britons.
