Jul. 07, 1974 - Turks deliver mercy message to a London housewife in Kyrenia: Turkish leaders in Cyprus were yesterday sending a message to a London housewife in Kyrenia, to tell her that her Greek husband, shot by Turkish troops in the invasion, was alive and in hospital in Britain. Word was allowed to be passed through army lines to the Dome Hotel, Kyrenia, where Mrs. Margaret Gavrielides, 36, of Streatham Hill, London, and her son Andrew 4, are held with more than 600 refugees, most of them Greek Mr Gavrielides saw her husband shot and badly wounded as they tried to hide from Turkish invasion troops. They were separated and she believed him dead.
