Arrests outside South Africa House, London
Mar. 24, 1960 - Demonstrations Continue outside South Africa House in London: Further demonstrations took place yesterday outside South Africa House, Trafalgar Square, against the police shooting in South Africa. More people were arrested, among them were two British Guiana party leaders, Mr. Linden Burnham and Jai Narine Singh, who are in London for talks. Police also stopped Chief Minister, Dr Cheddi Jagan, when he attempted to deliver a letter of protest. As a result Dr Jagan has cancelled talks due to have taken place at the Colonial Office this morning.
