Oct. 10, 1976 - MP demands shut arts council after pornography show; Security men were on duty last night to ensure that under 18 were not admitted to the opening of an eight day exhibition of Art featuring pornography and sadism, put on by the Institute of Contemporary Arts in the Mall, An MP who visited the preview of the exhibition called Prostitutes came out demanding the immediate abolition of the arts council. Mr. Nicholas Fairbairn Tory MP for Kinross and West Perthshire, who said his invitation to the preview party was stamped Unsolicited pornography, said he would now be tabling a commons question to Mrs. Williams, Education Secretary, demanding that the arts council be wound up forthwith.
