Feb. 22, 1960 - Arthur Fleischmann FRBS - with his modern interpretation of St Benedict: Dr. Arthur Fleischmann FRBS - who is claimed to be the country's greatest living sculptor - was at work at his Maida Vale Studio today - on his new interpretation of St. Benedict. The group is 9ft. high - and when completed will be in bronze for the new Abbey School, Fort Augustus, Scotland. The two pupils of St Benedict are transposed into the contemporary idiom by representing them as Scottish boys who are now pupils in the Benedictine School.
