Feb. 25 Italy Hold An Asparagus Festival: The pretty town Cantello in the Province of Varese, Northern Italy, is famous for its asparagus. It is the district's Chief industry and to celebrate the asparagus season a great luncheon was held, together with a competition for the best crop in the district. Beautiful girls in national costumes attended and there was singing and dancing to the music of instruments which are only found in the Varese area
