Mar. 03, 1956 - New Astronomer Royal at the Royal Observatory Hurstmonceaux Castle. Dr. Richard Van der Riet Wooley, the new Astronomer Royal, who arrived at London Airport yesterday from Australia, was to be seen today at the new Royal Observatory, Hurstmonceaux Castle, Sussex, where he takes over from Sir Harold Spencer Jones, who retired on the last day of 1956.
