Soviet forges ahead with satellite programme.: Immediately after announcement of the launching of Sputnick II - the Russians released a news film - purporting to reveal the secrets of the launching of their satellites. Mr. Jacob Malik - the Russian Ambassador told a London audience - that the launching of the second Satellites - made the film completely obsolate'.
