Nov. 11, 1957 - Soviet sends up Sputnick II'. Newturz of their experiments with Dog carrying Rockets: Co-inciding with the news that Soviet has released Sputnick II satellite pictures have been received in London illustrating space rockets. The dog was sent up in a globe inside a rocket to a height of 100 kilometers. The dog had a safe landing by means of a parachute. Photo shows the rocket containing the dog is released. It want up to a height of 100 km and the dog came safely down by parachute
