Nov. 11, 1957 - A Thing From Space Falls Into School Playground. Meteorite Just Misses A Child. A glowing red-hot ball, which scientists describe as definitely not of this earth - and weighing about a pound crashed into the playground of Sunnymead Nursery School, Fordbridge Road, Sunbury-on-Thames. The thing measured four inches by two - and fell only a few feet from Mr. H. Liddle as he brought his daughter Julia aged three to school. The heat given off by it was described as terrific'.
