Oct. 10, 1959 - Moscow releases amazing picture of the Moon: Moscow yesterday released this amazing photograph of the other side of the moon based on pictures televised back to the Earth from cameras in the rocket Lunik III, with the following explanations. Situation of objects on Moon's reverse side as revealed in preliminary processing of photographs received from automatic interplanetary station. (1) Large 300 km. in diameter sea crater. Moscow Sea. (2) Astronauts Bay of Moscow Sea. (3) Continnation of South Sea on Moon's reverse side. (4) Crater of main Tziolkevsky Hill. (5) Crater central Lomonosov Hill (6) Joliot Curis crater. (7) Sovietsky mountain range. (8) Dream Sea, Solid line across diagram shows Moon's equator, dotted line in border line between seen adn unseen part of moon from Earth. Solid lines around objects show absolutely established objects determined in preliminary processing. Dotted Line around objects show objects needing form clarity. Fine dots around objects on which classification is now taking place. Remaining parts further processing now taking place on received photo materials. Objects with Roman numbers are those on see side of moon (l) of Crisins, (III);; (V) Smith Sea; (VI) Sea of Fertility; (VII) South Sea
