Apr. 17 Apollo Landing Site: The approach to the Apollo 11 landing site in seen in this view from the Lunar Module while it was still docked with the command ship in lunar orbit. The landing site is located in the upper center near the darkness line. Crater Maskelyne us at extreme lower right. Hypatia Rille (U.S.1) is at upper left center, with the crater Moltke just to its right, Sidewinder Rille and Diamondnack Rille extend from left to right across the center. This view of the Southwestern Sea of Tranquility looks generally west. The historic landing on the Moon was made on July 20
