Dec. 12, 1963 - The Lannion Center Receives Signals from Tiros 8: The Space Meteorological Studies Center in Lannion is the only one of its kind in Europe. For the first time and immediately after the launching of the satellite Tiros 8 in Cape Kennedy, its signals were receive. Photos of cloudy masses taken by Tiros 8 at a height of about 475 miles and covering a diameter of 3 miles are now expected. Photo shows The antenna of the Meteorological center in Lannion
