Astronaut - Comets - NASA - Space - Spacecraft - UFOs

Aug. 23, 1960 - Will letters and cards soon come by rocket mail? : While Soviet scientists send animals and plants through space and Americans catch the instrument capsules of their satellites over the Pacific, also the German rocket scientists are busily working. On Aug, 21st, near Celle (CELLE)/Northern Germany, ten test rockets were started. They delivered about 3600 post-cards letters over a distance of 1500 metres. This start was the first inland (not at the training area at the North Sea), but it was also the opening for the 9th Rocket and Space-Travelling Congress which will begin on Aug. 27th in Hanover
