Oct. 14, 1966 - Hidden Side Of The Moon: A high resolution photograph made by the National Arenautics and space Administration's Lunar Orbiter spacecraft on August 26th, 1966, of an area on the hidden side of the Moon shows an unusual geological phenomenon formed by the super position of a large erater on an older, slightly smaller one. Displacement of wall material in the olderrater is clearly visible. North is at the top of the picture when it is viewed with the larger of the two craters at the upper left and the smaller erater to its lower right. The large younger crater is 31 miles across; its older neighbour is about 25 miles wide. Dimensions of the area shown are 45 miles by 52 miles. It is located at 128.9 degrees East longitude and 12.5 degrees South latitude on the lunar surface. Lunar orbiter's flight direction at the time the picture was taken was from left to right of the picture
