Mar. 03, 1968 - Rome, March 1968, Russia's second man in space Gherman Titov said with the utmost sincerity that he had no idea who would win the race to the moon. As a Soviet I hope it is the Soviet Union and I personally hope I will be the first. G.S. Titov told during a press conference held at the occasion of the electronics exposition. I am still very young said Titov who is 33, and so I hope I can go back up there again. Titov completed 17 orbits in space Aug. 6-7, 1961. With him was a 20 man Soviet delegation to the Rome show.
