Feb. 07, 1969 - Apollo 9 sequence: This 4 picture sequence shows how the Apollo Lunar will separate and then land its three man crew on the surface on the moon. Picture 1 - Top Left: shows the adapter panels jettisoned and the Apollo Command Module Command and Service Modules begin making a 180 degree turn using its automatic control system to dock with Lunar Module. Picture 2 - Bottom left: shows Apollo Command and Service Module docked to the Lunar Module and pulling away from the Saturn V third stage. Picture 3 Top right: shows Apollo Command and Service Modules docked with the Lunar Module. One astronaut has already been transferred to the Lunar Module and the second is manoeuvring himself through the forward hatch connecting the two spacecrafts.
