Feb. 02, 1971 - Poop joins ITN space team.: Frances Poppy Northcutt, a 27-year old blonde, who played a vital role in bringing the stricken Apollo 13 astronauts back to earth, has joined ITN's panel of space experts. She will be answering viewers; questions which will be phoned to ITN during the Moon landing, and two moon walks, Poppy, who holds a mathematics degree from the University of Texas, is the only woman ever to have sat in mission control. She is a computer expert with the tank of co9mputing trajectories throughout every manned space shot to the moon so far. Poppy is resting form the Apollo 14 mission to work on Apollo 15.
