Jun. 30, 1971 - Russian Space Disaster: Russian's three Salyut cosmonauts, returning to earth after a record-breaking stay in space lasting 24 days, died today. After an apparently flawless landing, the cosmonauts were found dead inside the Soyuz-II ferry craft by a helicopter borne recover crew. The three men, Lieut-Colonel Georgi Debrovolsky, Flight Engineer Vladslav Volkov anmd Flight Engineer Viktor Patsayev, had manned the world's first orbital spare collaborator.
