Astronaut - Comets - NASA - Space - Spacecraft - UFOs

Feb. 02, 1972 - SUN SONDE HELIOS FINISHED IN WEST GERMANY: The sonde Helios which will be ready to start in 1974 will reach the central planets of the solar-systems up to a distance of 23 Million miles, a quarter of the distance between sun and earth. Never before has a man-made unit researched the distance. Helios is the biggest German space condo project and also the biggest bilaterale space project in which the NASA has joined. For the sonde, which is built by the West German space-concern Messerschmidt-Bolkov in Ottobrunn near Munich, the first experiment was finished; it will measure parts of the sun-wind. Ops - The sonde Helios which is being built now. Ops - A model of the solar-sonde Helios
