Oct. 10, 1972 - France is Building its own Flying Saucer: In the huge workshops at Chalais Meuden near Paris, a Soucoupe Volante (flying saucer), is being built. The shape is already in existence, measuring 8 metres in diameter and weighing 150 tons. It has an observation platform installed. The sphere will some day join others for the study of the astronomic and geophysical world, where it will remain for about a year to aid radio and TV communications
