Astronaut - Comets - NASA - Space - Spacecraft - UFOs

1975 - Britain's Flying saucer gets off the Ground : Less than one year ago, John west Design Associates announced their plans to construct a new concept in air transport - and so the Skyship (flying saucer) project was born. Today the first scaled prototype was demonstrated at Cardington, Bedfordshipe, where it took off and maneuvered under radio control in the very hanger where the R101 was completed in 1930. Following the successful proving flight and tests, the next step will be to build one of about 200-feet diameter, having a pay load of between 6 and 10 tons. The eventual target is to produce a 400 -ton cargo carrying Sky ship within a few years.
