Dec. 12, 1980 - French Keep An Eye On the Moon: The French have installed a giant laser cannon high up on the hills above Crasse, in Provance, beamed contently on the moon. The laser gun, which is about to enter service, is not for military purposes as night appear, but to study the influence of moon on or planet. The National Center for Space Studies will use the cannon to collect date from the moon. Photo Shows The laser cannon on hilltop site in France
