Aug. 30, 1981 - The Encke Division in the outer A-ring is viewed in this computer-generated photograph. This picture was created from a cross section of Saturn's rings as measured by the Voyager 2 photopolarimeter's star occultation of Aug. 25. Resolution here is about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles); by comparison, the highest resolution of the Voyager imaging system is seldom better than 10 km.
