Fla.--Its antenna array barely visible sticking out of the sunshield cradle, the TELSTAR 3/Payload Assist Module arrive at the Vertical Processing Facility for installation in the checkout stand. TELSTAR 3 is oce of three commercial satellites that the orbiter Discovery All deploy into orbit on the 41-0 mission scheduled for late August. To the left of TELSTAR, already installed in the test cell, is LEASAT-2, a Hughes-built communications spacecraft that will be leased to the U.S. Plevy, and the first satellite designed exclusively for launch from the Shuttle. TELSTAR 3 was designed by AT&T Bell Laboratories and built by.aughes Aircraft Corporation. Each TELSTAR 3 satellite is able to relay hundreds of video teleconferences, 24 color television programs or hilliors of bits of high speed data ard facsimile signal
