Jun. 06, 1984 - Kennedy Space Center, Fla - The Earth Radiation Budget Satellite is delivered to Hanger AE at Cape Canavaral Air Force Station in the Payload Environmental Transportation System (Pets). The PETS was used to provide a controlled environment for the spacecraft during its trip from Ball Aerospace in Boulder, Colorado where it was built, to KSC launch site. ERBS will measure the amount of solar radiation received and given up by different regions of the Earth. It will be deployed into orbit by the Shuttle on mission 41-G (STS-17) scheduled for launch in October 1984
