Jul. 07, 1984 - Kennedy Space Center, Fla. - The3 main engine of the Orbiter Discovery is prepared for removal on July 3, 1984 after an aborted launch attempt June 26th. The Space Shuttle onboard computers terminated the countdown at T-4 seconds after a fuel valve in the engine failed to open properly during the ignition sequence. A new engine which has not flown previously but was tested on Discovery during the Flight Readiness Firing is the replacement
