Austin Champ vehicle demonstrated at Farnborough, Hants

Feb. 26 The Austin Champ Demonstrated: The Austin Champ a four wheel drive vehicle which has been specially developed for the British Armed Services as a light personnel carrier, was demonstrated today at Farnborough. Extremely robust, it is designed for service under almost any conditions. There are three distinct versions of the Champ'- the military version with Rolls Royce engines, the military version with special Austin 2660 cc engine, and civilian version with a normal Austin 2660 cc engine. The military versions of the Champ are waterproofed where necessary and fitted with stack pipes to the intake, which, when erected, enable the vehicles to be driven through water up to five feet in depth.
