Mar. 22 RESCUERS LOSE THREE WAS RACE AGAINST DEATH: WOMAN CRASHES 250 FEET DOWN CLIFF FACE. A dramatic race against death was made at North Head, Sydney - Australia recently in an effort to save gravely injure Mrs. Ida May Reed - who fell 250 feet over the cliff side. The accident happened when Mr. Reed was trying to lower his wife over the side - during a fishing expedition - when the rope parted and she crashed down. Frantic Mr. Robert Reed raised the alarm - police launches - and a pilot steams steamer rushed from South Head while Police worked from the cliff top to rescue the seriously injured woman. During the rescue attempts - Robert Reed collapsed to the ground in his anxiety. The woman was rushed to hospital - where she died soon after.
