Mar. 22 She's not my wife, says Man at Reunion: A man at Canberra Airport, Australia, embraced a woman who had flown from Poland to rejoin him after 21 years. Then he stunned a group of happy Poles who has waited to welcome the woman with flowers by announcing: She is no my wife'. The man, Peter Pasziewska, of Ainslie, Canberra, last saw his wife, Helena, in Poland in 1939. Paszniewska and his wife married in 1930, but he was captured by the Germans and sent to a prison camp in 1939. He often wrote to his wife, but after the war he could not get back to Poland and he lost contact with his wife. He migrated to Australia as a carpenter and built a house at Ainsville in 1953. About 18 months ago, letters he had kept writing to different places began to reach his wife. She wrote back and began to plan the reunion in Australia. After embracing at the airport, Mr. Paszniewska suddenly cried: She is not my wife. Father Warnsecna, the Polish chaplain in Canberra who was at the airport explained Remember, Mr. Paszniewska has not seen her for 21 years and both of them are now in their fifties. He will get over the initial shock. Shaking his head, Mr. Paszniewska look his wife's arm, and led her from the airport into a car which Father Warzsecha drove away. Photo shows Just before Mr. Peter Paszniewska exclaimed She is not my wife, he stands with Mrs. Paszniewska beside the place which brought her to Canberra
