Australia - Guinea - New Zealand
Feb. 02, 1962 - Harrer-expedition found again : For three weeks an alpine expedition under the lead of the Austrian Heinrich Harrer has been missing in Western New Guinea. The members of the expedition wanted to climb the Carstenz-Top (Carstenz-Top) which has a height of 5.100 m and is situated in Dutch New Guinea. After a wide-spread search the governor of the district has seen the camp of the expedition from a plane. One of the natives who is with the expedition has signalled everything all right with a white flag. Photo shows Heinrich Harrer (HARRER), leader of the expedition
