1968 - Oyez - Oyez: Many years ago before radio, television and newspapers the official news in Hungar an villages was broadcast by the villager drummer, or crier who went from street to street on foot or riding a donkey. At the recent Golden Sands Vintage Festival in Eastern Hungary the events of the programme sponsored by the largest agricultural and food producing firms and cooperatives were announced by a village crier, in the traditional manner but over the public address system.
