Sep. 16, 1955 - Vienna again Austrian garrison town after 17 years. Federal Army's first column moves into the capital. Coming from the western direction, the first unit of the future Vienna garrison arrived in the capital and moved immediately into a part of the Schoenbrunn Barracks. The rest of the border Gurad will be moved from Upper Austria in Vienna next Wednesday. The solemn transfer of the Schoenbrunn Barracks by the Royal Army to the Austrians will take place on Sept, 17.
