May 05, 1957 - Hungary's Kossuth Coat-of arms replaced by Soviet Star! The Kossuth coat-of-arms which became symbol of freedom during last year's anti-Communist uprising in Hungary, has now been replaced by a new symbol-by order of the Kadar regime. Explaining the introduction of this Soviet symbol, the Communists said: The Kossuth coat-of-arms introduced during the counter-revolution does not represent the character of our Worker's and Peasant's State.
