May 09, 1957 - Mrs. X - Pawn of Red Spy ring. Mrs. Emma Oliver: Mrs. Emma Oliver - said yesterday that she was the Mrs. X - accused of being an agent in the spry ring set up by Romanian Diplomat Eugen Perianu in Britain. Born in the Romanian province of Transylvania 42 years ago- she was a mixture of Romanian and Hungarian - but is now British by marriage. She said her association with Perian started because she wanted to go home to Romania to see some of her people some of whom were old and sick - and she had been interrogated by M.I.5 - but had not spied at any time. (Eugen Perianu has been ordered to leave the country within a week - as it is alleged that he was trying to form a Spy ring in Britain. He was an attache at the Rumanian Legation in London.
