Aug. 24, 1956 - Flooding in Zillertal. Due to the strong rainfall the last several days, areas between Ziller and Gerlos were overtaken by water. Dams broke and yellow water masses overtook the beautiful Zillertal region between Uderns and Zell. Eight people drowned and hundreds were cut off from the outside world
