Aug. 24, 1956 - Flooding in Zillertal. The heavy rainfall of the last few days in the Ziller and Gerlos areas in Austria results in rising floodwaters. Dams broke and yellow masses of water flooded the area between Uderns and Zell. Eight people drowned in the floods and hundreds more were cut off from the outside world
