Jul. 07, 1955 - Formation of the new Austrian Army. The B Gendarmery taken over by Defence Ministry. With the newly found freedom of Austria the B Gendarmery has been transferred form the Austrian Home Ministry to the Ministry of Defense to form the nucleus of the new Austrian Army. Their Uniform are similar to those of the pre -war Austrian Army.
