Austria - Hungary - Romania

Sep. 09, 1971 - A visit to Gorsium - Roman ruins in western Hungary : Gorsium was the name of a roman town whose ruins lie on the edge of the village of Tac, in Fejer country, western Hungary. Regular excavations of the ruins were begun in 1958 and are planned to go on for five decades. An aerial survey of the ruins revealed that they cover an area of some two square kilometers, of which about five per cent has been brought to light with the 12 years of Excavation. The remains of the buildings, a cemetery and stone ruins are already sights to see. photo shows a view of some of the unearthed ruins
